The first machine I bought after being in business for 3 years was the brand new Seiki Milling Machine, Kent Surface Grinding Machine & a 2nd hand Okamoto Surface Grind Machine.
So let's talk about these 3 machines and the others that follows,
- Seiki Milling Machine bought from Ichi Seiki (S) Pte Ltd
- 5hp little brute that performs as you would expect.
- Body is basically weak that trembles and shakes when you take heavy cuts
- Great for small jobs and virtually problem free since we started using it 3 years ago.
- Cost me S$14,000.00
- Kent Surface Grinding Machine (also from Ichi Seiki)
- 800 x 400 table size
- Great sturdy machine made in Taiwan
- Used mainly to grind plates to a thickness of an accuracy within ±0.01 mm
- 3 years of usage and a couple of things have gone kaput, like auto-feed not functioning & noisy motor - all repaired.
- But machine is still churning out precision plates consistently every day.
- Cost : S$36,000.00
- Okamoto Surface Grinding Machine (2nd hand from ESG Stamping)
- Manual controlled reciprocating table.
- Still in great condition even after more than 10 years of use.
- Was the main workhorse for small precision ground parts until I bought another surface grinding machine to complement it.
- Cost me a measly S$2,000.00 (great deal .. lots of thanks to Mr Schulte for giving me a great deal)
Other machineries ... coming soon.
